What is Montessori education?
Montessori education is a child-centered approach that emphasizes hands-on learning, self-directed activity, and collaborative play. It focuses on fostering independence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning in children through a carefully prepared environment and individualized instruction.
What programs does ORR Montessori Teacher Training Academy offer?
We offer two main programs:
- Montessori Early Childhood Credential: For individuals with a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Associate Early Childhood Credential: For those with an Associate’s Degree or high school diploma, in alignment with the standards set by the American Montessori Society and the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.
Is the program accredited?
Our programs are not yet accredited. We are in the process of attaining accreditation by the American Montessori Society and the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.
What is the duration of the programs?
Both programs are designed to be completed over 17 weekends during the academic year. The programs commence in August and conclude with graduation in early May.

What are the admission requirements?
- Montessori Early Childhood Credential: A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Associate Early Childhood Credential: An Associate’s Degree or high school diploma is required, in accordance with the policies set by the American Montessori Society and the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.
